Meet Peggy Bree, CoFounder of BLANK ROOM

Each week, Female CoFounder features a female founder in the community. Follow along each week and learn from different founders and their journeys.

This week's founder feature, we'd like to introduce you to Peggy Bree! She's the Co-Founder of the branding studio, BLANK ROOM.

Peggy Bree, Co-Founder of BLANK ROOM

Peggy: We are a branding studio that provides thoughtful art direction for passion projects. We are an agency comprised of two Creative Directors and a freelance pod and have been running since late last year (2018)-fairly new in the game. We solely believe in collaborations and working with the best freelance talent. Our drive is to help people bring their passion ideas and purpose to beautifully designed brands :)

FcF: What inspired you to start BLANK ROOM

Peggy: With my background in advertising and design, I knew I wanted to have an agency of my own one day. I was inspired by existing creative studios that exist online already, and wanted to make one that was simple and authentically defined by me. As a passion-filled person, I knew that the core focus of this agency had to be PASSION. With that, I discussed this with my partner and we started to brainstorm and map out the direction we wanted to take this agency, piecing together a mood board full of photos and visual ideas to inspire our next moves.

FcF: What were the first 3 steps you took after you knew you wanted to pursue this idea?

1 . Full creative brainstorm and process with my co-founder. From name ideas, visual directions, photo ideas, pinterest moodboards, mock-ups. The entire process.

2. Locking down the research and starting to narrow down the name and direction. - BLANK ROOM, a branding studio that provides thoughtful art direction.
Locking down the visual look. - Minimal, with a side of luxury
Locking down the audience. - Creative and passionate makers, beauty, artisans, lifestyle.

3. Followed the initial setup process like domain buying, bank setup, proper documents, accounting, software (slack, time harvest, freshbooks)

FcF: Where did you meet your CoFounder?

Peggy: At school :)

FcF: What advice do you have for other women who have a start-up idea or side project idea?

Peggy: Side project ideas do not happen right away. Let the idea simmer! Things take time to build and there's not rush in building that idea. When an idea sparks, just slowly add to it day by day until you're ready to make it happen.

FcF: Is there anything you would like the Female CoFounder community to help you with?

Peggy: I'm looking for a strategic person to be part of the creative agency :).  Also, more freelance talent is always welcomed to apply. If you believe in collaborations and have a passion for all things creative, give us a shout. We love connecting and talking to everyone.

FcF: How can people connect with you?
